According to USDA, December ’13 U.S. milk production was flat YOY, at 16,813 million pounds. Poor feed quality and weather conditions, particularly in the Upper Midwest, contributed to the lackluster production relative to current margins. December ’13 was the second month in a row with flat YOY production.
