Dairy Insights – I-29 Dairy Corridor Expansion Update
Dairy production growth in the Western and Southwestern United States is slowing just as several areas outside of those regions have strengthened. One such area is the I-29 Corridor, which runs north and south from North Dakota to Missouri.
Recent transplants from California, Canada, and Europe have increased the average herd size and per cow output along the I-29 Corridor. Growth along the Corridor is expected to increase going forward, with the area becoming an increasingly important source of milk production growth.
