Atten Babler Dairy FX Indexes – Dec ’14
U.S. dollar (USD) strength continued within the Atten Babler Commodities Dairy Foreign Exchange (FX) Indexes during Dec ’14. The USD/Dairy Exporter FX Index reached a 12 year high while the USD/Dairy Importer FX Index and USD/Domestic Dairy Importer FX Index reached record high values.
USD/Dairy Exporter FX Index:
The USD/Dairy Exporter FX Index increased 1.1 points in Dec ’14 to a value of 114.9, a 12 year high. The USD/Dairy Exporter FX Index has increased 15.0 points throughout 2014 and 7.7 points throughout the past six months. USD appreciation against the Argentine peso has accounted for the majority of the 2014 gains.
USD/Dairy Importer FX Index:
The USD/Dairy Importer FX Index increased 9.4 points in Dec ’14 to a new high value of 128.3. The USD/Dairy Importer FX Index has increased 22.0 points throughout 2014 and 21.4 points throughout the past six months. USD appreciation against the Russian ruble has accounted for the majority of the 2014 gains.
USD/Domestic Dairy Importer FX Index:
The USD/Domestic Dairy Importer FX Index increased 3.6 points in Dec ’14 to a new high value of 130.9. The USD/Domestic Dairy Importer FX Index has increased 9.3 points throughout 2014 and 8.7 points throughout the past six months. USD appreciation against the Mexican peso and Iranian rial has accounted for the majority of the 2014 gains.
