Planting Progress Update – 11/7/16
According to USDA, corn and soybean harvest paces remained behind the previous year but ahead of five year average paces through the week ending Nov 6th.
Corn:
The corn harvest stood at 86% completed through the week ending Nov 6th, behind the previous year’s harvest pace of 91% but ahead of the five year average pace of 85%.
An additional 11% of the total U.S. corn crop was harvested during the week ending Nov 6th. Weekly increases in the corn crop harvest on a percentage basis were led by North Dakota, South Dakota and Colorado.
Soybeans:
The soybeans harvest stood at 93% completed through the week ending Nov 6th, behind the previous year’s harvest pace of 94% but ahead of the five year average pace of 91%.
An additional 6% of the total U.S. soybean crop was harvested during the week ending Nov 6th. Weekly increases in the soybean crop harvest on a percentage basis were led by Oklahoma, followed by Georgia and Missouri.
