Crop Progress Update – 4/18/22
According to the USDA, corn and soybean planting progress each finished below five year average levels during the week ending Apr 17th.
Corn:
Corn plantings as of the week ending Apr 17th were four percent complete, finishing behind last year’s pace of seven percent completed and the five year average pace of six percent completed. Corn planting progress finished slightly below analyst expectations of five percent completed.
The majority of corn plantings have been completed throughout the states of Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas and Alabama as of the week ending Apr 17th.
Soybeans:
Soybean plantings as of the week ending Apr 17th were one percent complete, finishing behind last year’s pace of three percent completed and the five year average pace of two percent completed. Soybean planting progress finished slightly below analyst expectations of two percent completed.
