Crop Progress Update – 5/23/22
According to the USDA, corn and soybean planting progress each remained below five year average levels during the week nationally but outside of North Dakota and Minnesota overall progress is on par with the five year average.
Corn:
Corn plantings ended the week at 72% complete above expectations but still behind last year’s pace of 89% completed and the five year average pace of 79% completed.
Soybeans:
Soybean plantings ended the week at 50% complete just ahead of expectations but behind last year’s pace of 73% completed and the five year average pace of 55% completed.
